Is there a Certificate of Environmental Approval in place for this Project?

Is this system to serve as a replacement for an Existing Facility?

Is there an existing equalization or "balance" tank on-site?

Point of Discharge:

Hydraulic Characteristics of Wastewater:

(Please indicate Litres Per Day (LPD) or U.S. Gallons Per Day (GPD))

(Please indicate Litres Per Hour (LPH) or U.S. Gallons Per Hour (GPH))

(Please indicate Litres or U.S. Gallons)

N.B.:

1) Represents the total flow capacity of the system over any given 24 hr period

2) System designed for peaks of up to three (3) times the average hourly flow rate for up to two (2) hours up to twice (2) daily

3) Represents the average amount of water that is expected to be fed to the system per person that the facility is servicing

4) If pumped from a collection system, please note the instantaneous pump rate, the number of feed pumps and the duty cycle:
Instantaneous Pump Rate: Number of Feed Pumps:
Duty Cycle:

5) If pumped effluent, please note the distance travelled and the elevation change for this discharge:
Distance Travelled: Maximum Elevation Change:

Influent and Effluent Loading Characteristics:

Influent Characteristics (mg/L)

BOD5 TSS TKN TP Oil & Grease

Effluent Discharge Criteria (mg/L)9)

BOD5 1) TSS 2) NH3 & NH4+ 3) NO2- & NO3- 4) TP 5) Oil & Grease 6) TFC (CFU / 100 ml)7)

N.B.:

BOD5 = Biological Oxygen Demand (standard measurement of wastewater strength)

TSS = Total Suspended Solids (standard measurement of solids content)

TKN = Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (standard measurement of Nitrogen content)

TP = Total Phosphorous (standard measurement of Phosphorous content)

NH3 & NH4+ = Residual Ammonia Limits in Effluent

NO2- & NO3- = Residual Nitrite and Nitrate Limits in Effluent

TFC = Total Faecal Coliform Limit in Effluent

1) If BOD5 < 20 mg/L, filtration may be required (to be determined by our Process Specialists)

2) If TSS < 20 mg/L, filtration may be required (to be determined by our Process Specialists)

3) In the case of a seasonal limit on Total Ammonia Nitrogen, please note both limits (summer / winter)

4) If NO2- & NO3- < TKN, pre-/post-anoxic denitrification may be required (to be determined by our Process Specialists)

5) If Effluent TP < Influent TP, chemical phosphorus removal may be required. If Effluent TP < 0.5 additional advanced phosphorus removal equipment may also be required (to be determined by our Process Specialists)

6) If Effluent Oil & Grease < Influent Oil & Grease or if Influent Oil & Grease > 30 mg/L, influent grease traps may be required

7) If TFC ≠ N.A., then disinfection may be required. If TFC < 1000 CFU / 100 ml, then tablet chlorination may suffice and below that limit UV disinfection is generally recommended. The existence of more demanding biological effluent limits could result in the need for advanced disinfection equipment (to be determined by our Process Specialists)

8) Other = Dissolved Oxygen, Chlorine Residual, Nematode/Oocyst limits, Turbidity, etc.
